From OES: Here's the latest update from NOAA Weather Service ( http://1.usa.gov/X1WFRs ) on the upcoming weather for the next week. Please prepare accordingly.
Significant Rain Event through Sunday
* Rapid and Significant Rises on main stem rivers - flooding of main stem rivers possible in Humboldt and Mendocino Counties
*Urban street and small stream flooding expected
Overview:
A series of storms will bring widespread moderate to heavy rainfall to the region through Sunday. The second and stronger system will bring moderate to heavy rain Thursday into early Friday. A third system will bring another round of rain on Saturday and Sunday. The total rainfall for this four day period will range from 5 to 10 inches with local amounts to 12 to 16 inches in the south and southwest up slope areas.
A break from the precipitation is expected on Monday and Tuesday. Then another round of rain on Wednesday.
Thursday: 2 to 4 inches, except 4 to 6 in Northern Mendocino County. South to southeast winds 25 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH.
Friday: 1 to 2 inches and up to 3 inches in Northern Mendocino County.
Saturday: 2 to 4 inches, except 4 to 6 in Northern Mendocino County.
Sunday: 1 to 2 inches.

The following rivers forecast to exceed flood stage:
Eel River at Fernbridge forecast to exceed stage on late Sunday morning.
Navarro River forecast to exceed flood stage on early Friday morning, recede below flood stage and exceed flood stage again early Sunday morning.
Russian River at Hopland forecast to exceed monitor stage late Sunday morning.
Impacts:
* Street flooding and flooding of small streams and rivers.
* Power outages due to the strong winds are likely on Thursday.
* Road closures due to flooding or trees falling on roads or land slides.
* Flooding in low-lying areas and those areas with poor drainage. Clogged storm drains are possible due to leaves.
NOTE: This extended wet pattern continues to evolve so be sure to check later forecasts for updates to precipitation amounts and the main stem river response.
